The Logbook

A family that has always flown

Every broker will tell you they love airplanes. In our family, it's on the record: three generations of it. When you work with Hanzlik Aviation, you're dealing with someone who was raised on ramps, not showrooms.

Rayburn O. Hanzlik

Lt. Commander, U.S. Navy · WWII pilot & Naval flight instructor · "Grand Boy"

The original Hanzlik aviator. A World War II Navy pilot and flight instructor, Grand Boy taught a generation of naval aviators to fly, starting with his own two sons. The standard he set in the cockpit is the standard this brokerage runs on.

Naval Intelligence Officer, Vietnam War · Lifelong pilot

Taught to fly by his father at age twelve, Rayburn D. served as a Naval intelligence officer in the Vietnam War and never stopped flying. He was a fixture at fly-ins and grass strips all his life.

Nicholas Hanzlik Mayer

Pilot & Principal Broker, Hanzlik Aviation

Nicholas continued the Hanzlik tradition, learning to fly at fifteen. Today he flies out of Aiken, South Carolina, and runs Hanzlik Aviation, putting a third generation of airmanship to work for owners buying and selling aircraft across the Southeast.

Services

Two jobs. Done properly.

Our home field is owner-flown general aviation: the Cessnas, Pipers, Beechcrafts, and Cirrus this market runs on. We also take on select turbine engagements.

Aircraft Sales

We take your aircraft to market the right way: priced from real comparable sales, presented professionally, and shown by a pilot who can answer a buyer's questions on the spot.

  • Professional photos & complete spec sheet
  • Listing, advertising & buyer screening
  • Showings, demo flights & negotiation

  • On-market and off-market search
  • Logbook & damage-history review
  • Pre-buy inspection coordination
  • Negotiation, escrow & delivery

Your Broker

Nicholas Hanzlik Mayer

Nicholas is a pilot first and a broker second, which is exactly the order you want. He soloed as a teenager, flies out of Aiken Regional Airport, and knows these airplanes from the left seat, not a spreadsheet.

When you list with Hanzlik Aviation, the person representing your aircraft can preflight it, fly it, and speak to every line in its logbooks. When you buy through us, the person vetting your airplane knows what a tired engine sounds like and what a clean one is worth.

Hanzlik Aviation is Nicholas. No call center, no hand-offs. Every deal is handled personally, start to finish. That's not a service tier; it's just how a family business works.
